For Teachers

Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre professional development

July 1-5, 2012

The Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre (BMSC) is hosting a professional development workshop for science teachers from July 1st to 5th, 2012. BMSC's experienced Public Education instructors will emphasize the importance of learning environmental and ocean sciences through outdoor education and hands-on learning. A portion of the workshop will be devoted to field trips, allowing teachers to gain new teaching skills and knowledge of the natural world, while other activities include classroom-based labs using live animals and fascinating science demos. Participants will also be supplied with curriculum specific learning materials that have been tried and tested in classrooms throughout Canada.
